Word Search Retreat privacy policy

Word Search Retreat is a word search game for iPhone made by Jay Pozo. This page explains what data the app uses, who receives it, and the choices you have.

What data does Word Search Retreat collect?

It depends on how you play. As of October 2026, your progress, coins and settings are saved on your device. If the app shows ads, Google AdMob receives device and ad data to show and measure ads; Google's consent form appears when required, and you can revisit Privacy choices in Settings. If you buy coins or remove ads, Apple handles payment; the app receives transaction details, not card details. The app has no account and no sign-in.

Ads (Google AdMob)

As of October 2026, the app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for banner, interstitial and optional rewarded ads, and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent. Google receives device and ad data to provide and measure advertising. Read how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

The app asks UMP for current consent information and presents Google's form when required before requesting ads. Google provides a European regulations message for the EEA, the UK and Switzerland; the form and choices shown depend on Google's requirements and the publisher's AdMob configuration. See Google's consent guidance. In Settings, Privacy choices opens Google's privacy form when required; otherwise it checks consent again.

As of October 2026, the app does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission. This does not mean that ads use no data.

Purchases (Apple)

As of October 2026, the app uses Apple's StoreKit for Remove Ads and coin packs. Apple processes payment; the app does not receive your payment card details. The app verifies purchases and uses the transaction ID, product ID and revocation status to deliver purchases and maintain a local purchase record. Apple's purchase or restore flow may require your Apple Account, but the game has no separate account. Read Apple's privacy policy.

Data on your device

As of October 2026, the app saves a JSON file named save.json in its Application Support folder, under WordSearchRetreat. It contains progress and the current puzzle, coins, badges, music, sound, haptics and contrast settings, purchase transaction IDs and Remove Ads status, and local ad and reward records.

The app has no sign-in, app-managed iCloud sync, Jay-operated game server or separate analytics service. It does use Google's advertising and consent services and Apple's purchase services as described above. iOS device backups may include the local save file; the app does not exclude it from backups.

Children

The app is made for a general audience. As of October 2026, its ad requests do not set child-directed treatment or an under-age-of-consent flag.

Your choices

  • Open Settings in the game and choose Privacy choices to revisit Google's consent controls when available.
  • Use iOS Settings to manage device privacy permissions and your Apple Account's purchase settings. As of October 2026, the game itself does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
  • Deleting the app removes its local game data. Offloading the app is not the same as deleting it, and an iOS backup may retain a copy. Deleting the app does not delete records held by Apple or Google under their policies.
  • Restore Purchases can restore Remove Ads through Apple. Delivered coin balances are stored locally, not restored as coin purchases.
